About: Puri (ପୁରୀ Purī), also known as Jagannath Puri (the Abode of Lord Jagannath) or Purushottama Puri, is a seaside pilgrimage town in the Indian state of Odisha. Puri is in the state of Odisha, on the eastern coast of India. It is a major tourist destination with the famous temple of Lord Jagannath (means Lord of the World) and a very long beach offering beautiful and pleasant sights.About 2 hours from Bhubaneshwar, Puri is a coastal temple town along the Bay of Bengal in Odisha. Climate: The summer months from March to May are hot and humid, with temperatures rising to over 39° C. Puri faces the south west monsoon in June, and temperatures fall to around 28° C till October.This city has a tropical climate. In winter, there is much less rainfall than in summer.Puri experiences a moderate climate, and the summers are not easy to define. The best time to visit is January, February, March, October, November, December. Humidity is fairly high throughout the year. The temperature during summer touches a maximum of 36 °C (97 °F) and during winter it is 17 °C (63 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,337 millimetres (52.6 in) and the average annual temperature is 26.9 °C (80.4 °F).

How to Reach Puri :  Puri is a major railway junction and is well-connected to all the major cities in the country. The nearest airport is in the capital city, Bhubaneshwar which is 56 kms away from Puri. By Road- Buses are available from Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar.

By Air-  Biju Patnaik International Airport (BBI) - 49 kms from Puri.

By Train- Puri lies along the Calcutta-Chennai line and most of the trains stop here. Therefore, it is each to reach the Puri Railway Station via train.
